Lost all house power

I run a 2007 283 Release with just about all factory options for that model year. Yesterday, the steam to the fishing grounds seemed normal, but as soon as I set up my first drift, and turned both engines off, I lost all house power. No power to any accessory. I checked battery switches and the small breaker buttons- OK. Tried batt switches in different positions- no difference- All buss fuses -OK. Twin 250's started and ran as normal but no power to the rest of the house. I suspect corrosion in the batt switch area- maybe the breaker that is labeled MAIN. I have never removed the batt switch frame,(stern port area) and do not know what to expect. I would consider my mechanical/electrical abilities to be at least average. Any advice or experiences with similar issues could be helpful.

get your manual and follow the wiring schematic. if everything is gone it is going to be somewhere along the common line. my house feeds off of the starboard switch. i also have a main dc breaker in the a/c d/c panel. if you have a main dc breaker also, it may have just gone bad. good luck, ron

That happened to be a few weeks ago and it turned out to be the battery charger. One leg went out.

Ron- thanx for your input- I am trying to figure out if I should attempt to tackle this issue myself or take it to a GW dealer. Electrical problems are sometimes better solved by the pros who have seen these issues before. It could either be an easy fix or a nightmare.

if you consider you have average skills, a quick troubleshooting may be worthwhile. the manuals are pretty good with level of detail. it could be something simple that a little time and a multimeter might point to. then if you are uncomfortable doing the fix, you can bring it to the shop with the leg work already done. good luck, ron
