Even though the hull's of both boats are the same, they are actually quite different boats. The Marlin is a true walkaround while the 305 is not. The 305 has a center helm with room for 4 to 5 at the helm while the Marlin is not and only has room for 2. The 305 has a bigger cabin, but the Marlin has a bigger cockpit area. The 305's TV is forward of the v-berth while in the Marlin its on the aft starboard side of the v-berth. The Marlin holds 306 gallons of fuel while the 305 holds only 290. The 305 has 6 rod holders on the supports of the hardtop while the Marlin only has 4. The 305 has an enclosed fold up/down electronics box which can fit 2 12" screens while the Marlin does not. The 305 has a 70qt fish box on the port side while the Marlin has a sink in that spot. Overall it all comes down to what your preference is and how you intend on using the boat. We went with the 305 Express and could not have made a better choice, however some may be better suited to the Marlin. Both fine boats....just different.
