Wondering if anyone knows the tube sizes used on 1997 Marlin hardtop. My boat is 3 hours away and I forgot to measure the tubes for clamp on rod holders when I put her to bed for the winter. Thanks.

Hope someone else with a Marlin responds.

If the tube is same size as my Sailfish, the larger size tube element is a No. 3, the smaller size element is a No. 2

Google Lees tackle for the dimensions associated with these tube sizes.

this summer i recently added some clamp on rod holders to my '02 282 pipeworks (should be very similar in size if not the same pipe diameter).

i went with Taco aluminum clamp-ons bought from Cabelas. They are the largest diameter model which i installed on the "fat" mid horizontal span tube. Looks fantastic as it matches the existing pipework perfectly.

alum. models are a bit more $ than SS but perfectly matches the alum pipeworks.

if i recall, the price for these at cabelas was pretty darn competitive.

also if memory serves me correctly, Taco's did NOT come with hex/allen keys (2) needed for installation (so make sure you have some so when you get them, you can install asap and admire your work without delay) :D
