Hey all. So happy to be part of the group. I bought an 04 Marlin and getting everything set for the fishing season. My vessel came with the gas gen and the prosign inverter as factory options. I think the inverter is not working right. The display reads correct. The charger portion works well, but when I turn of shore power to test I have no power to my outlets.

Problem is…I can’t figure out where they installed it. It wasn’t in the berth area under the helm, not under any of the seats. Poked around a little and didn’t see it anywhere. Where did they install these suckers?

Thanks again.

I think there should be a breaker somewhere that selects the AC voltage source to be from either the gen set or the inverter. Just a guess.
Secondly, I would expect the unit to be relatively close to the battery bank to limit cable lengths for the charging function

I don’t believe those were factory options in 2004. Most likely added on by a previous owner.

Thanks. I have the original invoice from first owner purchase new and it was on that so the dealer must have installed then. I’ll dig deeper. Was just seeing if folks knew before I started pulling panels.

It's tucked away on the opposite wall of the battery compartment in the hatch below the rear bench seat. Replaced mine last year.

I read the manual and the transfer function is built-in to the inverter and is automatic, So no manual transfer switch.
The AC Input light on the control panel should be lit when shore power connected and off when there is no shore power.
In order for the unit to invert, the inverter switch should be in the Enable position. The Inverting light should be lit. Is this what you see on the panel?

Hey seasick. yep, all the settings are correct on the panel. I have done a TON of work with inverters on my bigger boats. I'll be able to diagnose/ replace/ repair it once I find it. Sounds like it's back by the Gen, so I'll dig better next time. All I saw back there was a small battery charger last time. I have a few left over 3k & 4k inverters from when I upgraded another vessel and hoping I can just repurpose one of those. Appreciate everyone's input. thx,

Got it..
Let us know what you find.

Was able to spend some time on the boat this last week going through projects. I was able to somewhat trace the large battery cables, and found that the inverter was mounted behind the panel on the port side of the bunk under the helm. Right by the black tank/pump. Sure enough, it was dead the prev owner just bypassed the 110 on it. Got a new Victron to replace it. thx again.
