I have never used the heat on my 2007 Marlin. I used the AC only enough to test it during the summer, I would hardly ever need it off of Garibaldi, Oregon.
I was thinking of staying over on the boat after a bottom fishing trip during a weather lull. I read of possible issues with the reverse cycle valve so I was worried that I had not exercised the system. I drove over in the morning and negotiated the icy road on the coastal range. It was 27°F on the road to the slip, but only 34°F at the slip.
I opened the pitcocks, started the genset and then turned on the heat, setting the cuddy for 70°F. The water temp was a mild 54°F. I was very impressed when the system ran and the cuddy warmed up in no time.
I don't know how often I'll use the system. Is it enough to turn the system on one every month to keep the system working well?
