We almost bought a 1999 272 8 years ago and the deal fell through. I ended up buying a house instead so I guess that was the better choice anyways. 5-6 boats later, from a 17' Whaler to a 24' GW Offshore, I slowly moved up into one and picked it up yesterday. It is a 1999 272 Sailfish with the original 225hp OX66's. I bought it off the original owner for a more than fair price from what I have researched. Needs a few things, but what 15 year old boat doesn't. The best part is the boat was local and we moved her 18 miles by water to my mooring.

To make things even a little better I have an offer on the 24' Offshore and the new to be owner is doing a compression check tomorrow afternoon. The timing of the whole thing worked out great. I am hoping this is a boat I will be happy with for many years and not my usual 2 years before I get itchy for an upgrade 8) !

Already want the winter to be over and it hasn't even started yet!

Not the best picture of us going by from the dock. The 272 and the Offshore were rafted to each other when we switched them on the mooring, would have loved a picture of that but it didn't happen!

Congrat's!

I remember seeing that one on the market when I was shopping. Bought mine last Winter, so I have a full season under my belt. I wasn't sure how much I would like the walkaround style coming from a bigger express type boat but I am liking this boat a lot.

Enjoy!
