Greetings from "the upper left corner",
I just joined the forum after over a year of lurking. My wife and I have a 2025 Freedom 235 on order and are looking forward to moving up from our 18ft Olympic that we've had for many years. We primarily boat in two locations, the Straits of Juan de Fuca chasing crab and shrimp and Lake Coeur d'Alene, ID. where we have a family cottage that is boat access only.
We have both been boaters our whole lives and have had several boats over the years.
We're thinking of naming this one "Last One IV".
My forum handle is a spin on my handles for a BBQ forum (Seymour Smoke) and an RV forum (Seymour Toulaine).
Thanks for having me! Regards, Mike

Welcome aboard Mike. New blood always desired here! 2025 - nice! Best of luck with the boat.

A belated Thank You for the welcome. I've spent the last several months scouring the interweb for any information on 235's specifically and Grady's in general. Thanks to this forum, I've learned a ton.
Our new boat should be shipped this week to Jacobsen’s for commissioning.
As you can see in the avatar, we've settled on the name...
"Skookum"
Chinook jargon meaning "Strong, greatest, powerful, ultimate, or brave"
Thank you in advance for your help and answers. Regards, Mike

Greetings and welcome!
That’s a beautiful part of the country. Idaho was part of my territory when I was based in Phoenix. Most of the industry was down near Boise/Nampa so I’d fly in there and fly out of SeaTac. Usually the last night of the trip would be in Coeur de Alene. I had a customer in Orofino. off the beaten path but an absolutely gorgeous area. Idaho’s a long drive north to south!
Congrats on your new Grady. Hopefully, it brings you many memories.

Thank you Fishtales and Seasick,
I've appreciated your helpful posts in the forum.

ACV,
Thank you for the long distance G'day.

Cb,
The Cd'A cottage has been in my family for 4 generations and is a really special place. There are about 20 cabins in our cove and we've all been there forever. Not too many people can say that they've had the same nextdoor neighbors for their whole lives and their parents lives as well. The mail is still delivered by mailboat 6 days a week.
As the lake has become more crowded with bigger boats, the wakes have gotten bigger and the need for a wavebusting Grady has increased. Idaho is a gorgeous part of the country for sure. I just couldn't live there politically or be that far from saltwater.
Mostly though, we'll be using Skookum on the Olympic peninsula to hunt crab and spot prawns in the big water here.
Regards, Mike
