Greetings all and thanks to everyone for your assistance with such good information. We plan to take delivery of a new 2008 275 on 2/27/10. We were never seriously interested in any other model but the many posts comparing it with the 225 were very helpful as were the discussions on how to power the 275. Very excited about the boat and for the opportunity to share/glean information here.

Speaking of power, ours is equipped with 225s and a Vista Top and will sit on a TANDEM axle trailer. As little as we plan to trailer it I'm not too concerned about doing without that third axle but others may shed some light on this for me.

A couple of questions right out of the box...does the marine head (for anyone with this option) have a strap to keep the lid/seat quiet during rough running or are they susceptible to banging up and down? Also, for anyone with the Vista Top...is it easily left installed and raised and lowered for shade when fishing offshore or do most people leave it in storage and forget about it? Can the Vista top lay forward to the bow when installed but not up or must it lay back toward the stern/cockpit?

Again, greetings, and thanks in advance for your replies. Can't wait to run this gal.

I too am the owner of a new Tournament 275 which I purchased in the Fall of 2009 but will launch for the first time in April of this year (when the snow is gone). I also have the Vista top and full head (instead of just the porta potti). The Vista top has solid rear stanchions that support it in the laying back position. You could probably disconnect it from the stanchions to lay forward, but I'm not sure that would work (I do know that some people remove the top completely when they aren't using the boat). In my case, I'm in the process of having a Radar Arch fabricated that will mirror the angles of the Vista top when laying back so that it looks right when in the stored position. I think if you lay it forward it will get in the way of your bow seats and won't look right because of the width of the top versus where the bow narrows to a point.

With regard to the seat on the had banging when under way, I didn't notice any problems when I took the boat for a sea trial last summer (and we bounced the boat through a number of waves and through its own wake as ride quality was a very important issue for me in purchasing this boat). I personally don't think you will have a problem but others on the forum can respond.

I'm pleased to see another 275 owner on the forum - I think it's a great boat (and am counting down the days until launch). Please post pictures as soon as you can and let us know how you like the boat.

Happy boating.

Congratulations

I own a 2009 275 Tournament Hardtop w/single 350 Yamaha. Took delivery last April. This is a very comfortable excellent riding boat. You will be very happy with your choice. If you have any other questions let me know. Good Luck! ron t
