Im replacing both tanks on my 25 Sailfish and the (very reputable) mfr. suggested redirecting the hose barbs aft so the line doesn't sit on top of the tank as much as the original connfiguration. I said go for it, can anybody think of a reason not to? The reason I'm replacing is that the main tank corroded a quarter-sized hole on the topside. E-10 + H20 + VST = no boating this summer.

I can't think of any reason why redirecting them would be a bad idea. Seems more like common sense?

For the hose, sitting on the tank, thing... you could have the tank coated... or at least just coat the area where the hose may touch (where water can get trapped) with epoxy or even just smear the area real good with 5200.

Use coal tar epoxy. If you can keep the current away from the tank it will last forever.
