I have been looking at newer used Sailfish. This would be a tradeup from an 04 Gulfstream. The 2006 -08 models have repalced the molded stern seats with a fold away seat. Seems to me a waste of cockpit space for huge coolers? I get the fact that GWs are fishing machines but I thinks the space given up is excessive. Anyonbe prefer the molded seat option to the current?
Survey being done today on a 2004 Sailfish with 145 hours. Hope it passes with flying colors for a launch next week.

I just purchased a 04 Sailfish w/124hrs and agree with you,the bench seat gives you a little more cockpit space plus I like the port side bait station with the hose inside compared with the newer models. You have less fish box area but I am a sportfisherman and only take home what I would consume in a few days anyway.

Good Luck and Have a great year on the water-cb

The same applies to the 225 and 275 Tournament. Both have the aft bench seating AND port side electronically controlled extendable lounge seating, the latter of which at least is an option. I agree with you that valuable space is sacrificed. When we step up to the 275 I would definitely opt for the captain and companion helm seating and fore go the extendable electrically controlled port sleeper seat. If I am lucky the aft bench seat will be an option by the time I step up to the 275.
Customers who prefer these fancier options might be better served with a Ray Hunt Harrier or a Tiara IMHO.
