I just replaced one of my rod holders on my 2020 228 and the gunnel is definitely made of fiberglass encased plywood. I thought they had removed all the wood from modern Gradys but I guess I was wrong. Anyone know the details?

The wood I saw seemed plain old plywood not even painted where the hole was cut for the rod holder. Didn't make me happy.

Maybe no wood in the stringers or transom, I don’t know. There is wood in my 2000 SF. I think we would all be a little surprised, maybe even shocked, if we could see into the hidden corners of our boats.
All that water that stays in the forward bilge might just be Kool-Aid

I thought it was just transom and stringers.

My console dash is definately plywood. Which is pretty standard. GW says no wood in their stringer system and transom (anything that should be below the waterline).

Unfortunately there is still nothing as strong as plywood. Unfortunately GW cuts corners on their fiberglass work
