Northern Ohio does anyone know where I can buy a top like this used? I picked up a 1984 257 pro that I need one for.

Do you have the aluminum 1/2 tower? The tower guys can make a lightweight top for you.

Finding a used one is going to be difficult. They don't age well and would likely need gelcoat repairs.

Not sure sure what you mean.. I own the boat pictured and just bought another one just like it but it has no top like the one pictured. So I want the aluminum frame and lid on top with the overhead radio cabinet.

I don't think they were as universal as you might think. Also, when the boat is rotted, so is the hardtop. I've followed this site for a long time. Tops do pop up now and then, but it is not common. I can't say I've ever seen one for your specific boat, but keep trying. You only need one!

I decided to move the top from my Mayflower boat to the one I just bought with the outboards.. I will be selling the Mayflower and don't think the $11000 cost to have a new top built would offset the value loss on the Mayflower when I sell it.

The Atlantic Towers option didn't work either eh?
I don't know anything about the other boat you mentioned, but before you begin the surgery, be certain it will do what you want. While a hardtop on Lake Erie has it's benefits, the nasty chop and a lot of weight up high is a bad combination IMO. Make sure it is as light as possible.

Thanks for the help and insight.. I already made the switch and re-wired. After having the top on my Mayflower boat for Lake Erie I will never go without one for a bigger boat again. The top doesn't weigh that much as 4 of us moved it from boat to boat side by side. I would post a pic of the new boat with the top but I can't seem to get it to upload. Said it's too big of a file and a google link is no no too apparently! lol
