I am likely going to have A and J canvas in Vanceboro make new side curtains for the boat. I do like the Navy blue color but I also like the almond white color too. The blue hides dirt and mildew better than the white color. However, the white color has a classic look to it. Anybody with the white curtains notice wear or mildew issues after a few years or quicker than the blue? Thanks.

I just had A & J do a whole set of curtains for my Marlin. The people there are great, cannot say enough good things about them. I am within driving distance so I brought the old ones to them to use as a pattern. I debated white or blue, but the admiral said stick to blue - easier to clean and it still looks great. BTW, Blue is a little cheaper than the white. One tip, go for the strataglass option. It was a few more shekels but it is well worth it. I would send you a pic, but the quota for the board has been reached.

My first two Gradys had the blue which I liked. My "New to Me" Marlin has the white and I think I'm going to like it better. It does have some mildew which I hope to be able to scrub out. I will say though that with the white, I won't see dog hair on it like I did with the blue. My last and current "Four Legged" friends were/are light colored. Your ride will look sharp either way!

I had blue on my last boat of 5 years and the white for 7 with the boat I have now.
I think the white stands up much better. It is a waxy material (staimoid I believe) that doesn't allow stains to get into the fabric.
I also think it holds up better in the sun and over time.
I agree with the more expensive plastic glass. For the Marlin it was about $200 more per my quote (which I have not executed upon yet).

My brother use to profess engineering at EDU ( he now professes engineering at Auburn) and I have taken my boat there before for rear curtains. Excellent folks. The stratoglass from what Jill said there was worth the extra shekles. I will be sending my curtians in via ups ground.

The navy that GW uses from the factory is not captains navy...it's just plain Sunbrella Navy. Captain's navy is more purple-y in hue. Hold the two next to each other and the difference is noticeable.
Another thumbs up for A & J. I got a local quote to put all new canvas on my 360 with Eisenglass. Then I called A & J. They did it with Stratoglass and the shipping for almost 50% less. Quality is great. The only thing is you need to install your own snaps - which, if you have the correct tool is a piece of cake. Mine came out great ( Stamoid with Strata-glass).
