Has anyone put a windlass on a 204c? I have an 82 with the anchor locker hatch In front of the windshield. I’m looking for suggestions on where to install a windlass that the rope has at least 12 inches to drop below into the cabin or in the forward bow space in front of the walk.
My thoughts are to bolt on a bow pulpit and roller and install the windlass on the hatch. The problem is it’s too shallow and I would still need to drill a hole to drop the rope into the cabin.
Any help or pics would be appreciated.

If you drill a hole to drop line into the cabin, you will end up with a wet cabin not only from rain and wash but also from the water that the line has absorbed.
If the existing locker is not suitable, an option might be a drum winch like the ones from Seachoice. I am not sure if you will have enough room but there are different mounting options. That said, those winches are quite expensive
