I am shopping boats to no end and it is exhausting trying to decide. I found a 228G with a F250 and it looks good but it has bottom paint and sits on a trailer and I will keep it on the trailer also. Right now it has been repainted and looks good but what about 2 yrs from now? What are the pros/cons of bottom paint?

If it is going to sit in the water for any period of time then it needs to be bottom painted. If it is trailered each outing, paint is not needed. For trailered use, boats without bottom paint are more desirable.
The amount of time that a boat can sit in the water and not collect growth depends on a lot of factors and is difficult to pin down.

A boat with no paint is worth more when you go to sell later. And there's much less chance it has any water intrusion issues. Bottom paint usually doesn't stay looking good on a trailer, that's probably why it has new paint on it now. Bottom paint could also hide issues that exist now. Spend the time and money to find a boat with no paint. I chose a model, did a national search, only a few with no paint. I drove over a thousand miles to get my boat, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck.
