does anyone know how to replace a fuel fiter on a '97 sailfish GW with
2 stroke yamaha 225 . maybe a website with diagrams / instructions.

Is the filter the clear bowl type under the motor cowling?

This might help

Remove bolt 18. twist ring number 13 to unscrew. Bowl is pressed into the mount, wiggle it off. keep an eye out for 0-rings and the order of the parts in the filter. Usually you can just clean the filter if needed. use a solvent and some compressed air. Make a note of the order of parts, it is easy to get confused.

There's probably a larger filter upstream (preferably water separating), change that one too.

10 mm bolt on top
screw the black ring clockwise the filter will drop out
lube up new oring with fuel
