Ran over from Ft Lauderdale to Grand Cay, Abaco, Bahamas which is up near Walker's Cay at the very top of the Bahamas. It was a 2-couples trip with some fishing thrown in aboard our 2001 Marlin, the HEY MON!.
It was a 2.5 hour run to West End, Grand Bahama Island to clear Customs, have lunch and refuel for the 50 mile run across the Little Bahama Bank to Grand Cay. Grand Cay is a small island with just 200 residents.
First day out, Ed gets a huge Schoolmaster Snapper!
Followed by an Almaco Jack which makes great Sashimi!
I helped out with a nice Yellowtail Snapper. That night, we took a bag of fillets into the restaurant there and they made us a feast of a dinner!
We also took the boat into a gorgeous anchorage at Double Breasted Cay.
On our third/last day of fishing, we tried to troll off of Walker's Cay but got blocked by this big boy.......
On the last day of fishing, we docked up, extended the retractable aft Bimini, popped open a cold beer and sat down to clean a few fish!
The HEY MON! in her slip on the side dock at "Rosie's Place & Marina".
Poor Jan bore the brunt of the very sloppy crossing of the Gulf Stream coming home!
Next up is a trip back to West End, Grand Bahama Island to spend the July 4th weekend at a very nice Marina & Resort called Old Bahama Bay..... Report to follow.......
