Hi all,

The previous owner of my 209 applied the gritty skateboard tape (that typically is adhered to the top of a skateboard) to the non-skid floor around the helm in 3 areas.

The skateboard grit has since worn away leaving just an ugly adhesive residue.

Could somebody suggest a product and technique for removing the worn out grip tape without harming the factory non-skid underneath?

Thank you, Ed

Search and 'ye shall find. 3 posts down from your post is a post about "sticker removal". Good info in there. If there is still any sort of "paper" left, follow any of the advice in that thread. If it truly is just sticky residue, then acetone or goof-off/goo-b-gone.

i use a product called "lift off". lowes, home depot, etc. very good and safer than acetone. if you need to replace the tape, there is a marine product made in various widths. it is non-skid, but not using grit. i use it on the leading edge of my cockpit steps. in the sun, you could barely see the step edges. works great and is long lasting. good luck, ron
