replace old 2 stroke with 4 stroke

hai,
i repowred my marlin 28 model 1992 with 4 stroke suzuke 250*2 and i dount feel the same feeling with old engine which was yamaha 250*2 2 stroke
Is that because of weight ? what can i do to get it back ?

A friend of mine is a service manager of a Grady White dealer in NY, he makes a very good living on selling folks 4 stroke motors. Yamaha along with other manufactures do a great job advertising products they want us folks to buy and it works in some cases. Me personally, I am a 2 stroke fan, pound for pound you can not compare the two. Finally there are great deals out there on plenty of NEW earlier 2 stroke models.

While 4 strokes will never quite have the "umph" two strokes do, one of the problems that is common is that the motors get mounted too low on a repower. Make sure you are propped properly and the motors are mounted to the right height...

Also, propping can make a big difference as well. Make sure you are reaching your max rpms. Over propping is common too
