Aple: Welcome to the forum!

Can you give a little more info on your boat, i.e., is it rigged for twins or single, Do you want to stick with two-stroke or looking to go four-stroke, what kind boating do you typically do?

Since our hulls are probably similar dimensions, I'll speak very highly of my F250 if your transom is okay with the 600 lbs. of weight.

I've got 860 hous on my Yammy F250 and it has been flawless. I'm not sure if you meant that you're looking for a 200 four-stroke, but I would not recommend the F200 or F225 over the F250 provided your hull is rated for at least 250 hp. In my experience, the F250 has not only more power than the 225 (more than 25 hp, it seems) but it also delivers the power faster. And the F200/F225/F250 series all weigh about the same. Drawback is the F250 needs 87 octane fuel.

For comparison, my 258's dry weight is 4320 lbs and she carries 127 gallons of fuel. With full fuel and fishing or diving gear, I get a 27 mph cruise at 4,000 rpm, getting 3 mpg in calm water. WOT is 42 mph at 6,000 rpm.

I recently spent a day in front of an F250 on a friend's boat (not a Grady), and came away REALLY impressed. We were lobstering in the Keys, so we spent a lot of time "trolling" at idle, and also running to different spots on plane. It was unbelieveably quiet and smooth, and never lacked for power either. At idle, I could actually hear the "pisser" stream hitting the water!

He had found a nice deal on at left-hand rotator, which makes no difference on a single, so he was quite pleased with his deal.
