I see newer models of GWs have rod holders mounted in the floor of the head for storage. I have a Bimini 306 and would like to install them in our head. Has anyone done this or have knowledge as to where it can be done in our boat? Difficult to access under the deck to see if anything critical is under there. Thx!

i know this is a 45' Grady White but I have seen similar rod storage in smaller Gradys just can find a picture yet.
Either that rod holder swings up, or that bottom drawer swings down, because you can zoom in on a stainless piano hinge in the crack between the two.
If it swings up, it must just be the rod holder caps, without the tubes below.

Bottom door swings down - you can see the hinge is attached to the door.
Ralph, how much space do you have underneath the floor and is there anything in the way of where you would drill? Find a way to get eyes on it. That will tell you 100% if it's possible.
Or, if you have the height based on your rod lengths, build a box that sits on the floor to hold the butt end - all you need is some holes in the box.
You need to measure your headroom in your head. It is probably less than the 45. measure your rods also. You may not have enough height.

I find anything more than 6' is a total PIA unless going straight in. I use the mid berth holders for my short boat rods and the bow in ones for a couple of longer spinning rods. If keeping more, I lie them on the port side - bow towards stern.
