Anyone install top mount outriggers on a 228 with hard top? Any suggestions on what to use and/or stay away from?

Yes. I have Taco telescoping outriggers on my 228 with hard top. The fully adjustable bases are called Grand Slams as I recall.

They are mouted toward the back of my hardtop, of course, outside of the aluminum frame. I'd say they're maybe 2 feet from the training edge of the hard top - maybe 18 inches. I actually "over purchased" and got the 18 footers but only use them as 15 footers (I do not extend on of the telescoping sections). Works great. The 16's would have been fine (though someday I might use 'em as 18's but it would have to be really calm).

What I like about the telescoping riggers is they store easy and you can run with them retracted to help reduce stress on the mount and hard top.
