Has anyone had a swim platform added to their 228G? I am looking to get one built to stretch side to side and interested in what has worked well already. Also looking for suggestions for aluminum welding on the W Coast of Florida. Thanks.

I have the factory option of the full width swim platform. We use it a lot on the lake and when we are in the Keys or Bahamas. I highly reccomend you doing this. It uses bracing on the sides with bent stainless steel railing like pipe and rests on the motor bracket. If I was redesigning it I would move the hand rail on the port side toward the motor and then have the swim ladder fold out to the side versus the back near the motor.

Check out a company called stainless marine. The previous owner of my '84 seafarer had the cut down transom converted to a full transom then put one of their full width transom brackets on it. Has a nice three step ladder that folds up and slides under the platform from the port side.
