My copper went directly to helm. We disconnected there cut and crimped hose and pulled from bilge. My hose did not start to leak until we pulled new cables for new motor control. It was very brittle in my 30 yr old boat.

I have crimped the copper by the helm. There has been no fluid in these hoses I’m assuming for years. I’m going to disconnect them from the junction from where they connect to the plastic hoses that go to the motor and attempt to pull it out and as long that I t’s not connected anywhere else, it should be easy. I’ll then measure the copper line. I’ll also add plastic lines from that junction to the motor.
I do. That makes sense. Thank you. I’ll try this weekend. My new helm is scheduled to arrive Friday so I have a lot to do this weekend. Looking forward to getting back down there.
