The new Lowarance StructureScan transducers for side imaging are now 11" long including the mount. From the picture, you can see that the 90 degree port-side signal will partially interfere with the engine and possibly affect the port-side image. This is the transom of 208 Adventure. Will this degree of signal obstruction affect the scanner performance? Is there a better location for the side-imaging transducer or a better way of mounting it? I do not want to put it under the keel, which is an alternative. The skimmer will be located near (within 12") this transducer.

Anyone have experience with this?

Can't understand why Lowrance would develop a transducer that is not easily installed on a typical transom.
