I have a 208 Adventure, model year 2000, with a fresh water cockpit shower that was installed when the boat was new.
The shower has been troouble free since new. This summer the pump started to sputter. The pump would get an initial burst of water, then sputter.
I was about to run out and get a raplacement pump, when I did a little reading on the pump.
Long story short, the water filter just before the pump was clogged and just need a good rinse off.
The filter unscrews from the pump and line (without tools), can be sprayed clean and returned to service in just minutes.
This will become a new standard item on my spring commisioning and fall layup.
So, before buying a new pump, check your filter(s) to make sure they are free of debris.
Cheers,
Rhumbline
