"Sonar" vs FishFinder: What's the Difference

Just got my 2013 Cabelas Saltwater catalog today. Inside, is a Lowrance unit, Elite-5 Color Sonar/GPS Combo. Looks strangely like a fish finder to me. Is this a marketing ploy or is there a basic difference between what Lowrance is selling and a conventional fish finder? Thanks in advance. Hot Ajax

If you look at the Lowrance web page they refer to this as a fishfinder/chartplotter combo. Sounds like the use of SONAR and fishfinder is being used interchangeably. As far as I know there isn't a difference.

A fishfinder IS a sonar, so yes, the same thing.
