Hi guys, after installing my new Lowrance Live 7 mfd, I am no getting a reading on my command speed gauge. The water speed line (hose from engine two gauge) I disconnected years ago but would like to have the gps speed reading back. All cables I disconnected from the old mfd were reattached to the new one. Cannot find any isolated wire from the gauge that could require a connection. Any ideas on how to get my speed back on the gauge would be appreciated.

Have you searched through the menu. I know on my SIMRAD, you could choose what info you wanted displayed and what lay-out you wanted. I think it was under "information". Not sure, it's been more than a week.

Did you have the speed working with the old MFD? If so, then you probably have one of two issues: The new MFD needs to have the configuration changed to output the speed to the other device or the wiring for that information flow is not the same as the old MFD
Depending on the old MFD and the model of the speedo, you may have a NEMA 200 link (like a LAN) or a NEMA 0183 serial interface. In the later case, the wiring needs to be verifies and the MFD has to be configured.

You want the speed to show on the Yamaha gauge, yes? It used to get the speed from a GPS source thru a wire (NMEA0183? or N2k?)?
You have a new MFD...with built in GPS? You still have the old GPS source?
Could be a setting to choose GPS speed source or could be NMEA0183 connection needs different wire than before.

Thanks guys, I have NMEA 2000, I will try to reconfigure my MDF. I did not see a choice of displays, but will go over all that again. Everything else shows on the gauges accept the speed. Seasick, I did have speed with the old MDF and since both are plug and play did not change much. I guess the ground speed is the only info needed from the MFD to the the Command gauges, the rest comes from the F200 directly to the gauges....no?

OK I have checked my mdf and it is set on ground speed not water speed. It appears that there are two wires from the Command gauges that connect to two wires that are on the power side of the the harness, that got disconnected when changing over to the new MFD. There is quite a wire cluster coming out of the speed gauge so will try and ID the two and make a connection. Want to connect my Yamaha hub to NMEA 2000 also, but having a tough time finding the cable. Can anyone suggest a source for the cable for command link not command plus. Thanks
