We met up with FF and crew at Casa de Mullet for a scallop excursion. We slept in and ended up on the water around 10 am. The plan was to avoid the boat ramp follies by putting in at Port Panacea and motoring over to the east flats. A nice boar ride and we were on the flat searching for ol' blue eyes. First spot was a little picked over so we moved about 100 yard and found'em in good numbers. My youngest and his sweetie, along with mullette were on board. The girls were scared to get in the water so jr and i would have to gett'er done. This was Matts 1st "divin" scallop trip. He had waded for them at PSJ before but this was new. It took him a while to remember to blow out before sucking in when surfacing with his snorkel but he got the hang of it pretty quick. Here's a few of Matts and Shannon.
6' of water and real clear!
Shannon playing the shy girlie...Matt bein a ham..
Puppy love...
Matt asked me this mornin when the season came back in as he wanted to go a lot next year.
We got our full 2 pints in about and hour I'd guess after moving and left plenty for next time.
