Anyone ever have a problem with a Kenwood stereo. It has a removable face plate, and when removed, the little red security light glows so I know it is getting power but it otherwise appears dead. No sound or other display lights come on.

Sometimes there is a small reset button you have to hold in with a pin as you power up that will reset everything. I've had to do this on a Jensen marine stereo before that quit working. Not sure if yours has this or not. Mine was behind the face plate on the main body of the stereo.

Thanks DogBone. Mine does have a reset button which I tried pushing. On yours, did you have to hold the reset button in and then at the same time push the "power on" button. I just tried pushing reset for a few seconds, then pushing the on button.

Yes I think I did have to hold the reset in while I powered the unit. See if you can find a manual for your stereo online, it will have the specific instructions for your unit. The reset did fix my unit that was not working.
