Thought I would share my numbers from today. I personally have silverado 2500 as main tow vehicle for boat. But wanted to try the wife's tahoe today as my truck cannot seat all 4 kids. Stopped at CAT scales prior to hitting highway. These are measurements. Tahoe has tow capacity of 8200, and max tongue weight of 820 lbs. Calculate tongue weight of 870lbs. Trailer is estimated at 1470 lbs. This was empty on freshwater washdown and half tank of gas. Needless to say I didn't like the way it rode and did not feel comfortable getting on the highway with it with the whole family on board. Went back home and grabbed the Chevy 2500. Guess we are a 2 car family for trips.
