Hi everyone, New to this forum. I am the proud owner of a 1985 offshore pro, with a volvo-penta 5.7 Gi and a dp-c1 outdrive. Just put new transom in last winter, and completely rebuilt engine. Now I am putting everything back together. Took many pics before taking anything apart and saved on computer. Long story short computer died. Simply trying to find out where outdrive tilt pump sets. It attaches to the transom, just not sure which side (port or starboard)

In many boats, it's on the starboard side. But, it really doesn't matter. You can put it on whichever side makes the most sense for you. I would base it on whether or not the hoses have a preferred way of coming off the pump and then, if it doesn't matter, whichever side makes the most sense for you in regards to access to it and compared to other items that may need to be accessed on a more regular basis than the pump. In other words, I would put this low on the priority list of "need good access to it".

Thank you for your help. You confirmed what I thought. The pump is able to set on either side equally well, as stern seats have been removed, and the back of boat is wide open. Trying to install everything possible before reinstalling seats. Next project will be figuring out wiring, and the engine start up. Trying to complete project by 28 th of July (anniversary ).
