Click the Img box, paste the url and then click the img again, it will have a "*" beside it.

I use photobucket.com. It has a button that pastes the correct syntax so all you do is click and paste.

Be sure to resize the pic before you post it, I like to use 640x480 or 800x600 pixels. Otherwise it posts really big. The syntax looks like this, minus the spaces in the [ img ]. I spaced to make it display the code instead of the pic.

Nice. I like that model.

Is the motor tilt limited to prevent contact with the deck? Looks like the torpedo is in the water a few inches. That is a large cowling, but perfect power for that hull.

Brian OCNSLR - is that how your stern is? Same distance between transom and bulkhead? Of did they go deeper for the taller V8 ?

Well, ours is a 2002 model and the layout forward of the transom changed. But aft changed only for the ladder.

Looking a the photo of the 275, and trying to remember what I saw at the VaBch Boat Show a few months ago, the actual engine area did not change. I don't see any additional depth for the larger cowling.

Our original 250HP OX66 could tilt clear of the water, and our F150s clear well, but that big 350 doesn't. That would not make me a happy camper.

Grady_Crazy thank you for the input I will resize and try again with new photos next week.

GWcpa, good catch on the engine torpedo. I have a complaint into GW to address this. The engine tilt has a variable limit system built into the electronics that the dealer sets. Due to the absolutely totally stupid design of the transom light and its support bracket the engine tilt is limited. Without the support bracket it appears that the engine could be tilted up fully (out of the water) with it the cowling will hit the center support for the light. In short the engine torpedo being in the water is a not going to fly particularly since the F350 has a second water pick up at the base of the torpedo that is currently underwater. This has been in GW's hands for about a week and a half now with no response as of today.

Outside of this issue the boat & engine are fantastic.

That would be great if Grady could relocate the stern light bracket so that you could tilt it clear. I could not visualize the bracket until I looked at the pics on the GW site. It appears to me that one boat in the pics has the bracket and the boat in the video (I think) with twin 150 does not. Come to think of it, it was probably the hard top boat which would have the anchor light on the HT.

Hopefully the bracket relocation can be done, otherwise there really is not solution unless the motor can be raised a hole on the transom, which may only help slightly.

Congrats again on new boat. Not much I like doing more than getting another boat or admiring someone else's. Don't like pointing out a minor flaw.

Can you give us an overview of the performance and handling, layout, etc since you have had the boat?

Tournament 275 overall impressions after the first few weeks

Here is my read on the Tournament 275 with F-350 after the first two weeks in the water. The performance is right on specification with the published performance data on the GW web site. Top end is 47 MPH at 5700 RPM with 200 gal. of fuel, 20 gal. of water and three adults, perhaps a little bit more once broken in. Mileage with variable speed (18 - 47 MPH) over 16 miles was 2 mpg. I have not put enough hours on the boat to comment on the overall performance in terms of trolling, dead drifts, pointing up and slow speed handling in the rocks for casting. The water line with full fuel and water is well below the scupper drains.

As for the layout everything is very nicely done the bow seating/casting platform is fantastic. The head compartment is a huge hit with the ladies and the seating is very comfortable. Plenty of room to fish and I really like the ability to walk a catch from the bow to stern without anything in the way, (bimini off of course). I put a C120 Raymarine system in with depth, GPS, Sirius weather and radio. The custom screen with a three view display showing 1/2 of the screen as GPS, 1/4 as the bottom view and 1/4 as weather gives everything you could want in a glance. It would be nice to have radar but I did not want a hard top. Everything is a compromise I guess. The Sirius radio is very nice to have and I was one of those that would say "I'll never have a radio on my boat". Foot is officially in my mouth

My only issues with the boat are not being able to raise the engine torpedo out of the water due to the transom light bracket design (I am told that GW is working on a solution, we will see) and no tackle locker on the boat. That's right no tackle locker on a GW, what's that about, I think someone screwed up????? That said there is plenty of storage to make up for the omission.

Currently traveling but will post some photos once I get home.

From looking at the pictures in the brochure I see what you mean about the light bracket. It doesn't appear to be a problem with the twin 150s. But GW surely knew the F350 was coming and that they would offer it on the boat. Somebody must have been napping in Greenville. Hopefully they will devise a solution or they are not going to win any JD Power awards for that one!
It's a great looking boat and I agree with you about the hardtop. Does it not have a tackle box in the right side of the console like the 225? That seems to be another miscue. Maybe they will have all these bugs worked out in 10-15 yrs when I'm ready to trade up from my 225.
Congratulations on your new boat! I pick mine up in two weeks and can't wait.

Not being able to raise the gearbox all the way out does no harm, mine never raises out either. Just spray or brush on some Trilux to the area and you will never know about it. Dull up the Yamaha paint with some scotchbrite, clean off and apply paint, no need for sanding or primer.

Have fun.

BobP I agree with most engines the torpedo in the water is NBD but the F350 has an extra intake at the base of the torpedo and I am concerned about growth forming in the cooling passages. See the attached photo.

Think of an I/O which never comes out of the water, or the exhaust ports & intakes on inboards - would never function but they do just fine.

There's nothing in any owners manual I recall reading that says the outboard engines can't spend there entire lives not tilted at all.

How about your SW pickups and lines, macerator outlet and lines, all below the water line, never get any kind of antifouling protection internally but continue to work.

Water normally sits in the lower half of my transom scuppers, I just get a few barnacles at the opening and a fine slime coating thereon, that's it.

Have fun with the 275!

You do want to keep the surface clean of growth, it can interfere with smooth waterflow to the prop.

Since you have no antifouling there, just take a brush and scrub it off when you see some buildup.
