I was thinking about getting a trailer for my 27' Sailfish. My only concern was height, including the radar and spotlight I think the boat alone may be close to 12', add the trailer and I think I would be over 13' 6".

Any experiences?

Thanks,
VC

Two issues. A Sailfish is 9' 6" wide which is considered a wide load in most states. This may have permitting, signage and restricted times/days you can transport. The bigger problem is height. Anything over 13' 6" may require an escort vehicle.

You need to find a way to get under the 13' 6" height unless you are towing short distances.

Again the wide load may not be that big a deal in the right state for short distances but long haul it can be a PITA.

My older Sailfish has an open array and is just over 12'.

Here's an old pic:
