I have a 1995 seafarer, during my shakedown run I noticed that my power tilt gage is stuck, however the trim works fine? I am not an electrical guy and I'm wondering what I should check first? any help would be great.. Thanks

Had the same problem last year on my 03 Gulfstream. The shop replaced the sending unit (about $250 w/labor). Works great now. Made a huge difference in trimming out for best RPM and speed.

Dunno about your motors, but on my ETEC's, there is a sensor under the motors (visible when you trim the motors all the way up out of the water), that looks like a little black lever connected to a circular flat spring. This trim level sensor sometimes sticks and needs a good squirt of WD40, some grease and some massaging to get it working again...
Try that before you go back to the Stealership for expensive repairs.

The sending unit is a mechanical potentiometer and often it just needs to lubricated. Mine sticks from time to time and I just squirt a dash of Teflon spray in there .
