I've got a friend with a 10 year old Freedom 335 that's in need of some stitching repair and looking for someone to do the job. He keeps finding that they just want to replace the entire cushion and he'd like to see if it can be repaired. Anyone know of someone that is skilled in these kinds of repairs?

Annapolis area based.

The guy I use is in Frederick, MD, Joe's Upholstery. Located just of East Patrick street. First exit for Frederick going west on I-70. GO thru the first light, about 150 yds down on the right is his sign. Give them a call. VERY Professional.301-662-5006.
You may find at 10 years old, the material is about lived its life.

If it is just a normal, flat cushion, with a top, bottom, and gusset, any marine, auto, or furniture upholsterer should be able to restitch it. And they all do welted seams. His chances are even better if he takes the cushion out, and just brings them the cover.
If it’s more complicated, like a helm seat with internal partitions, he’s better off sticking with a marine upholstery shop.
