Hi folks. I own a 2004 Gulf Stream. It Seems like I may be getting some rain water in my boat and I don’t know why it’s not draining out. I found it yesterday when I was doing some work on the boat. It’s in the hatch that’s beside the bait tank. If I open the circular hatch on the port side. It looks like water is pooling on the ledge inside. Anybody have any idea why this isn’t draining? Or where the water could come in from? I was suspecting the rub rails. But there’s is about 3/4” of water

I will post pictures later when I go back to the boat

Do you get water when the boat is not used? If so do you get water all the time or mostly after a rain event?

It has to be rain water. My boat is out of the water when I’m not using it. And it’s only used in the ocean. The water is not salty. (Taste test)

So yes, it has to be after a rain event.

How is it stored when out of the water. There will always be some flow of rain water into the bilge. Common areas for water to leak in are anchor lockers assuming yours normally drains into the bilge. To that ad deck plates, drink holders, etc.
Depending on the orientation of the hull when stored, that water may just pool and not drain ( Do you store with the garboard drain plug removed?)
Any deck opening like deck lids that are normally sealed may be leaking.
Are your auto bilge pumps operation when stored?

Note that it is common for water to pool in the mid/fwd bilge and not drain aft if the boat is sitting level or even when level. This pooled water is often obvious if the boat is launched on a ramp since the keel angle will steepen and the pooled water will flow aft triggering the bilge pump. The main issues is not there is pooled water but rather how much and how fast does it pool. Without a bilge pump timer that is hard to determine.
