Water in Islander Cabin

I bought a 268 Islander last fall. I noticed some water coming in the Port and Starboard cabin, behind the galley, which pooled on the seats where they meet the head/galley. Putting a hose on the windows does not create a leak. I have done some discovery in the anchor locker and sealed all possible places that are suspect. The only remaining possibility for the culprit is a leak around the window somehow that is draining into the the hull; working it's way into the cabin. I am at a loss and am looking for direction from fellow grady owners. Any help out there?

My guess is it's your anchor locker hatch. These often leak rain water or salt water while underway.

Do your windows open? If so, you could apply a thin film of Dolphinite (avail. at west marine) to the gasket. A small can of Dolphinite is great to have on any boat for stuff like this. It never dries, remains pliable, and can be removed and re-used as needed.

You might get everything dry then lay newspaper in your cabin areas, and anchor locker. Then use the boat and see which newspaper gets wet first.

Finding leaks is a pain but very satisfying in the end once you discover the source!
