Hey, everyone.
I've been working on my boat, an 89 Overnighter, and found I have 2 places where I'm getting water intrusion. The first is beside the helm. Water is getting under the metal frame of the side window and entering where wires go up through the fiberglass and also coming out from under the metal frame on the inside. My questions are how the windshied/side window frames come off so I can seal under it and would a bead of sealant along the outside where the frame sits on the fiberglass last long enough to be worthwhile?
The other place I have water coming in is the anchor/rope locker. Fortunately, I have the cushions out of the boat. I found a dirty streak running from the locker and a puddle under a PFD. I suspect leakage from around the bow light but wonder if you've found other places where water gets in.
Thanks,
Gary 89 Overnighter
