I have a GW overnighter. I have a standoff on my motor so it sits about a foot and a half behind the transom. Can i tow with this setup. I wanted to get a tube to tow my nephews and niece. I was wondering if I use the two transom hooks with a tow harness, will that work or will I have problems with the harness hitting the motor. New to tubing so I want to make sure before I purchase anything. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

that's like the one i used in the past. i like the centering. might not be long enough though. take a length of string and see how long it needs to be to prevent the line from laying up to the engine. i couldn't find one long enough for the 232 (w/ twin f200's); that's why i made my own. good luck, ron.

You need an extra long (12') harness. I have the Airhead TY0216 (about $20 or so) and it clears the motor with no issues.

I have one like the one you posted (mine is 12') but wish I got the nylon version that floats. Steel cable one tends to sag and get close to prop when there is slack, when kids are climbing on/off tube.

Thanks for all the input. I was wondering that same thing about the steel line and it sinking. Do they make a self centering nylon one?

like i said, i couldn't find what i needed. i used like 5/8 or 3/4 (can't remember) braid yellow poly with three ss caribiners. tied off the apex with a yellow float in between knot and caribiner. works very well.

you could probably make your own sheave system, but i determined wasn't worth the effort.
