Not sure what size the 94 Sailfish was but mine is a 2004 282 and it is classified as a yacht. The capacity plates are only placed on boats under 26 feet. The Yacht designation plate is where the capacity plate is on smaller boats under the helm.
It basically means the load and capacity is up to the judgement of the captain / owner / operator.

It does have a Yacht plate under the helm. Does this mean my boat is larger than 26 ft? The original brochure says 25' 4" but I'm not sure what points along the centerline that refers to. Example: from pulpit to engine or bow tip to engine bracket? I was recently told the true length was the waterline as the boat sits in the water. Any thoughts?

Ahh yea, your '94 is the first year of the eutotransom. They called the same boat the 272 the next year. I wonder where the measured the 25'4" center line.
