Salmon fishing is great!
Head NW find baitfish, downriggers set to 180' - 220' in 320 FOW. I used my own black lure I 3D print paired with a 11" protroll chrome
We nailed one first thing in the morning yesterday, then had to hunt around for the baitfish seemed like around 10am the bite came on heavy but also lots of bait balls on the screen. Once on them we do circles trying not to get tangled up! The south troll seemed to be easy with the swell/wind. We got some coho down deep but most were eithor on the retrival of a missed downrigger strike and or with 10oz - protroll 11" with the black lure with 45 -50 on the line counter (no down riggers)
I noticed if the downrigger was struck and let off the clip if you retrieve slowly and "jig" randomly we would have a good chance to hook up on a chinook or coho.
We let a few chinook go to get better grade fish, the ocean was sporty in the morning but improved to be a very nice in the afternoon
Tight lines
