In a lengthy rainstorm this last trip I noticed a slight drip coming from the top outboard corner of my cabin window. It appeared to be coming from the curtain track screw in the upper corner. I stuck a wascloth between the curtain & window which was more than enough to absorb the flow.
I didn't have time Sunday to chase it other than a onceover. Nothing obvious from the outside. It seems the gasket is fused in one piece.
Anyone have a similar problem and is the gasket really one piece?
Thanks

I recently cured a leeking cabin window (non- opening). The window frame on my 258 is like a sandwich with the glass mounted in the outside frame with the gasket pressing up against the cabin and being held in place by the inside frame using screws and a pressure fit to hold it in place. After a couple of years of vibration, the whole unit shifted and a gap opened up. All I needed to do was separate the two halves and adjust the window so there was no gap and reattach the inner frame. No calk or silicone needed. This time an easy fix!! :D

It didn't seem necessary. When I removed the inner frame, the problem was obvious - the unit was no longer centered in the opening.

The gasket used on my boat did not seem like any kind of specialized material or shape. Since it is a compression fit, it looks like normal adhesive backed weather stripping.

I will say thet when I posted my original problem, I did get reponses from guys who had leaks in the past and it sounded like they needed re-sealing. Thanfully, I didn't need to do so.

By any chance is the horn bolts any where near the leak?
