It's that time of year, so here are some.... Feel free to add!

- Take down your enclosure every year in layup. I can't believe how many people leave them up and shink wrap the boat with them up. I take them down, wash with soap and water, hit any mildew areas on zippers and canvas/stamoid (which is usually very minor). Let the dry and then clean and polish using Imar products on the Strataglas. They are clear and soft when they go up in spring. They look so nice and are soft and pliable.
- Put s piece of pool noodle on the antenna. Eliminate any risk of the antenna banging or vibrating on the hardtop when down and under the shrink wrap.
- Clean out the boat. I take everything (and I mean everything). This gives me things to do like: refresh safety gear, sharpen and lubricate knives and tools, find shite people left (sunglasses, ear buds, cash and ...) over the long cold winter.
- Remove high dollar items, binos, tools, handheld vhf, net, gaff, hook, rods/reels etc. I only leave lines and fenders and hard mounted electronics.
- Inspect and clean PFDs offseason. Re-line rods, clean and inspect reels in cold weather when looking for stuff to do.
- Refresh flares, food, batteries in PLB, EPIRB, flashlights and first aid kits in your ditch bag. Stow outriggers.
- Inspect your rode every 3 years or so.
- Remove fishing lures. This year I consolidated and shrunk what I take. I got the Hogy square bag and it worked out great. Between the bag and onboard storage, I had plenty of tackle in about 1/2 the space. Let's me review and change hooks if needed.
- Empty out all storage areas and will go through it over the winter and try to pare down!
- Ensure all items that have covers get them on (radio head unit and remote, displays, radio etc).
- Take and inspect all snaps and replace offseason so ready to go in spring.
- I let the dealer do the winterization, wrap, store and motor maintenance. Review batteries and replace before spring if needed.
- Quick clean, do this much more thoroughly in the spring.
- Evaluate zincs and make sure I have replacements. If not, Zincs.com to get what I need and a set of spares.
- Evaluate bottom paint and will get before spring along with anything I need to apply.
- Ensure mast light and GPS sensor are turned down so not stressed or damaged when shrink wrap is installed.
- Determine any needed or proactive repairs/replacements I will do. Make a list and get what I need for either fall or spring install.
