Engines had been running fine all afternoon this past Friday on my Express 330. Returning to port I noticed starboard engine would only get to 4700 rpm while port was running 5300. Turned around and noticed that I was leaving a smoke trail in my wake. Further inspection indicated that the smoke was coming from starboard engine. Powered down and limped back in on port engine. Got back to dock, pulled cover and found thick milky gung at oil fill. Pulled dip stick and found milky oil as well. Not good. Water getting in. Mechanic is looking at engines hopefully today. Has anyone had a proplem like this? 2006 Yamaha four stroke 250HP. 320 hours.

thanks

Yes and I hate to tell you but it is not good. That sounds like head gasket failure which will involve a rebuild. Hopefully your mechanic will have better news for you but I doubt it.

yep base gasket

caused by
over filling oil
under propped
bad t stats
trolling way to long and not running hard

All should be covered by Yamaha warranty, new powerhead on the way!

2 weeks, perhaps 3 weeks incl. time to order all parts.

I hope.
