I am wonderind how the yamaha 250 300 four strokes are dooing in the real world, I am from canada and find it hard to get feed back. I had a pair of yamaha 250 hpdi and lets just say i swore i would never use another Yamaha JUNK JUNK JUNK. however the new four strokes seem to be good units thoughts??? And are there any expensive fixes in the first couple hundred hours??

This one's easy. I have a pair of 2005 250's and they have been flawless. The only thing they require is 89 octane gas and recommended service. What ever the highest grade is for engines, that's what these get.

If you are referring to the new 250 & 300 four stroke designs, last I was told by my dealer (at the Boston show in Feb) they are not available and probably will not be until late spring early summer.

wow, total junk on the Yammy. I had an F150 and put over 500 hours on it without a lick of trouble and my F250 is awesome, just only 150 hours, but it is a smooth running motor. Mine is the newer variable valve timed motor, well not sure if all F250s had that design or not, but mine is an 08 model and it does. Kind of curious, what kind of problems did you have?

My other vote would then be a Honda outboard if you dont want Yammy.

Just curious, having never owned one, what were the big problems with the motors? I went to Yammi's web site and they still make the HPDI, is it safe to assume they fixed the problems?
