    Water in spreader lights

I have a 2008 283 Release which I purchased new with the factory fiberglass t-top. The molded rear spreader light compartments have always filled with water which eventually rusts and destroys the lights so I have to keep replacing them. Dealer was unable to find the leak and I haven't had...

    Water in Spreader Light

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and can help me find a solution. I have a 283 Release with a factory fiberglass T-top. The first year I had the boat all was well. The second year I started to get water in the starboard spreader light that is molded into the rear portion of the...

    Battery Charger gone bad

Battery Charger I have a 283 release that was not ordered with the onboard charging system. I was thinking about adding an onboard charger and phoned the guest charger people (www. Marinco.com) and found them to be very helpful. They can tell you what you will need for your system and I'm...

Fixing rusty balljoint on end of seacock pushrod

Ocnslr...thanks for your response. You are correct about not leaving the seacocks open all the time if the boat is kept in the water. What I should have said was that the lever that fell off was from the seacock for the overboard discharge and I keep that closed all the time....I have never...

Fixing rusty balljoint on end of seacock pushrod

For whatever it is worth, I think I have the new design on my 283 release. There is a long rod with a ball on one end and a fork on the other. THese are used to work the seacocks for the head in the console. I never use these rods and one day I started to notice a strange rattle or...

    Props with better grip?

Brian...I took a look at my props and it appears they are 15 inch with 21 pitch. Onoeric...interesting about the exhaust creating a difference in the prop's ability to grip.....thanks for the input.

    Props with better grip?

Thanks for the replies.....I appreciate the input. Brian....I don't know what size the props are. I think they are Yamaha Saltwater series and are whatever Grady puts on those boats at the factory. I will check the size the next time I'm at the boat and will let you know. Thanks, Bob

    Props with better grip?

I have a 283 release with twin Yamaha 250's. I like the twins but wish they could perform a bit better in terms of control during docking especially in windy conditions. I noticed that Pursuit boats have their engines spaced a bit farther apart than on the Grady's and would assume that helps...

    In Hull transducer (Airmar) questions

I'm new to this forum and hope this is the right place for this response. I have a new 283 with a Furuno Sounder and matching transducer. The transducer is mounted on the flat area toward the stern of the boat and is supposedly the spot where Grady wants it mounted. The transducer is a thru...
