    Props for Marlin 28?

What props are you guys using with a marlin with twin 250 4 strokes? I have twin suzuki 250s. Performance is pretty good but for some reason the starboard motor tends to ventilate whereas the port motor rarely does even though they are the same height and done have any obstructions. I have 4...

    Thru Hull Advice

not that I know of. there is a tool that you can stick through and hold the fitting steady while you torque the nut from the inside but access is still a problem.

    Launching/Retrieving Gulfstream

I used to launch my sailfish by myself all the time and trailer hundreds of miles. no problem. trailer setup is important though. side boards are very useful in keeping the boat squared and also good security if a wave comes and pushes the boats stern. I now have a 28 marlin and am not...

Pumping gas out of a fuel tank

best bet is to remove the sending unit. you'll be hard pressed to fish a hose down through the filler because it takes a hard 90 degree turn and the hose will likely kink even if you can get it down there. also you cant siphon from your pickups because they have an anti siphon valve although on...

Hello, I have recently bought a Marlin 28 with suzuki df 250s on it. It has 4 blade stainless of an unknown pitch and diameter. Was wondering what others are running and if they are happy with it.

    Towing a Marlin?

I'm looking to upside from my sailfish 25 to a Marlin 28 or possibly a Marlin 30. Most likely a 90s Era boat considering my price range. I need it to be mobile. Can I safely tow this boat? My tow vehicle is a 2012 ford super duty 6.7 diesel crew cab long bed single rear wheel.

1995 Grady White Sailfish Trailer Setup Help

replace carpet with slicks. don't use that spray, it leaves an oil slick that can give you trouble if the wrong person sees it.

    Re Engine Sailfish 25

single 250? absolutely not. what you saw must have been a 24 offshore or maybe a 23 gulfstream. 150s are a good setup for this boat but I wouldn't go any smaller. this boat requires twins and I don't think a single 300 would do very well either, this is a big wide tub and requires a lot of...

    Where is the Leak?

Maybe you guys can help me find this leak. On my 88 grady white sailfish i get rainwater colecting on a ledge under the driver side fish box. It can be seen from the bathroom behind the reemoveable board where the trim tab pump is. I can see it is dripping from the bottom of the fishbox but...

    Sailfish 25 Trim Tabs

What size trim tabs are you guys running on the old sailfish 25? I have 18x11 and they seem like too much because i get a fair amount of bowsteer in a following sea even with tabs all the way up. I was thinking about trimming them down a couple inches. Input?

    full enclosure questions

I dont really like the traditional canvas/clear plastic window setups. They look nice new but wear fast and always are wavy, distorting vision. Plus, i never take mine off. I built a rigid acrylic enclosure. Im loving it so far.

New to the site, looking to purchase a late 80's grady

the seadrives would be a deal breaker. odd balls and expensive to repair. if you can find rot, i would walk away because its the rot you cant find that will cause you problems. i wouldnt try to shoehorn 2 adults and 4 kids in a seafarer. my dad has a 226 seafarer and its too small for that...

    Custom Hard Top

i had an overnighter 204 with a 150 yamaha and a hardtop. wouldnt want one any other way. my dad on the other hand is a custom marine fabricator and made the framework for another guy with an overnighter that had a custom fiberglass cap made for it. turned out nice. we're in the seattle area...

    repowering a 1983 grady 255 sailfish

i dont have hard numbers but i have an 88 sailfish 255 with twin honda 150s. great setup despite what alot of guys will speculate. it seems to get a little over 2mpgs and people ive talked to with 150 4 strokes claim right around 2 as well. i am a little under propped with 3x14.5x15 SSand can...

    Repower or Rebuild??

Those are considered some of the best motors ever built. As stated though if you do stick with them go with the new powerhead, surprisingly cheap. But if you don't mind spending 30k then new is obviously better.

Towing The Seafarer 228 With Chev Tahoe

Just for clarification, with axle ratios, the higher the number the lower the ratio. for example, 4.10 is "lower geared" than a 3.73 the "lower" the gears are the better it is for towing in general to keep rpms up.

Fuel consumption twin 1987 yamaha 150's

I had the same motor but 1990 as a single on a 20ft overnighter. got 2mpg no matter what. i think you can expect about half that given you have two of them.
