I pulled up my deck sections to clean them up before I put my new deck plates in. I discovered that the thin piece of fibreglass between the aft deck section and the deck section over the tanks is supported by a piece of plywood that is wet and rotten.
I'm assuming that these pieces were bonded together at one point. This piece is what top deck sections screw in to, so I have to do something. I'm thinking of cutting it off and then bonding it to a new piece of marine plywood that is really soaked in resin and then reglassing it in afterwards. I just want something that will provide a good "bite' so the deck sections won't flex and leak. Support is provided by the structure below which is in good shape.
