Curious as to who has installed a bow-mounted trolling motor on the front of their similar-sized and shaped boats. Its something that I'm seriously considering doing, as it has become a huge thing in our area. Folks are getting right on top of their spots, deploying the trolling motor and using the GPS function to keep them in place. From my perspective, this virtually eliminates all the anchoring I would normally do and would help to actually be on the spot instead of having to constantly adjust the anchor or reposition.

I presume that I would need a 36V with the longest shaft and greatest #'s thrust possible to effectively keep me "anchored". That's not the hard part to figure out, but how to mount it without interference with the bow rail is another story.

Any thoughts??

I recently mounted a new Minn-Kota Riptide Terrova iPilot 72” shaft 36V 112lb thrust on the front of my Freedom 215. If the new 87” shaft would have been available, I would have gotten that one. The 72” shaft will stay in the water in a 2ft chop, but much more than that and it will cavitate the prop. My batteries are mounted in the rear of the boat with the battery charger. I only have a picture of the trolling motor mounted on the front. I don’t have pictures of the batteries and charger yet, but I will try to take some this weekend.
